5 Pillars Campaign

The Ledbury Park School Advisory Committee (SAC), in partnership with our Principals and teachers, have been hard at work discussing and planning ways to improve Ledbury Park Elementary School and enrich our children’s lives at the same time.

We are thrilled to launch the 2022/2023 Ledbury Fundraising campaign. Our objective for the year is to raise $25,000!

While this may sound like a lofty goal, our plan addresses FIVE needs which will benefit students in all grades. This annual fundraiser provides you with the opportunity to support both your child’s class as well as school-wide learning experiences, outdoor enrichment and resources.

Our 5 PILLARS for this year are:

Outdoor Refresh

Our students need the ability to engage with each other outside of the classroom as well as in it. Physical education and student led interaction are critical to a child's education and development. To support outdoor education we plan to upgrade the outdoor play areas with the following:

  • A new basketball court with regulation nets and painted lines for older grades

  • A new basketball court with shorter nets and painted lines for the younger grades

  • Additional four square courts

  • Additional hopscotch courts

Leveled readers/decodable texts and math manipulatives

Over the past few years the number of texts we require has gone up. Our primary grades will greatly benefit from more readers to support their literacy development and manipulatives to help teach finances in math. With the funds we will purchase:

  • Leveled Readers

  • Math manipulatives

  • Portable carts so that students can share these resources

Digital welcome board

Our school is a vibrant community filled with incredible events and people. Our goal is to make sure all students, teachers, parents and visitors who enter our school feel part of our community. We are going to install a screen at the entrance of the school to showcase a calendar of upcoming events, pictures of our students in class and at play and important messages in real time.

Calming corner in every classroom

Our teachers have suggested installing a calming corner in each classroom to give our students an opportunity to take a break and refocus themselves in a calm environment without leaving the classroom. To achieve this, we will work with each teacher to figure out a plan for their respective classrooms. Calming corners could include the following:

  • chalkboards to write on

  • Washable carpet to sit on

  • Pillows for comfort

Breakfast Club

Unfortunately Ledbury is not immune to food insecurity issues. There are members of our Ledbury community who arrive at school without a proper meal to start their day. No child should have to arrive at Ledbury and sit through class on an empty stomach. With the help of parents and teachers, we have revived our breakfast club program and we intend to feed any child that needs a nourishing meal.

  • Two mornings per week, we will provide breakfast for all students that need it.

  • With your help, we can get to five days per week!!!

This is a big yet achievable vision and we need YOUR HELP.

We are asking every family to consider a gift at a level that is comfortable for them. Your participation is a vote of support for our children, our school and our community. Every donation received is eligible for a full tax receipt, plus your name will be displayed on the Ledbury Tree in the front entrance.
